CES 2013: Pre-Show


As thousands of people lined up for the opening keynote by Qualcomm’s Dr. Paul Jacobs the atmosphere was electric. All we knew was that Maroon5 would perform. You could say we were pleasantly surprised at what ensued.

The keynote opening was amazing. The theme was the explosion of mobility in everyday life. Mobility will be everywhere, keeping people connected to the things that are important to them. At the core, Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Touting advancements in gaming on tablets and mobile devices, the Snapdragon showed impressive advancements where digital graphics were concerned. That was not all though.

International CES 2013: Preparing for a week of gadget heaven!


It’s CES time again for 2013! What a way to start the New Year! Just me, my boss, and 150,000 of our closest friends. =)

As I recount my trip to CES 2012 I recall a great many things I did differently starting out this year.

First I booked my hotel in November to ensure I could get a room closer to the Las Vegas Convention Center. Last years booking was at the Luxor on the Strip. Nice accommodations at a very affordable rate. Only one small problem; It was as far away as you can get from the Convention Center. This meant a $18-20 cab ride twice a day. Add meals on top of that since you aren’t going back to the hotel anytime soon and you have a hefty bill just for one day.

This year accommodations are at the Stratosphere which is just a mere block from the Convention center. The irony is that the Keynotes are not at the convention center but down the strip at the Venitian. DOH!
